Full-service mastering, mixing, and audio restoration from the centre of the Comox Valley
Dulcet Mastering is owned and operated by Anthony Shackell, and based out of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Dulcet's room was built by hand by Anthony with consultation from Ron Obvious, known for his work at Little Mountain Sound and his work with John Vrtacic, work with Bryan Adams, and innumerable studio builds for the likes of Colin James, Mutt Lange, Bob Rock, K.D. Lang, Devin Townsend, and Brian Howes, among many others. Music is critically considered through a pair of ATC SCM25A Mk2 speakers paired with a sub, and gear is consistently added to the arsenal to ensure the best sounding product possible.
Anthony spent many years playing music, eventually taking an interest in recording, mixing, and live sound. After spending time abroad honing his skills, he started Dulcet Mastering to target what he loves the most - helping art be the best that it can be, and to create a sense of emotion and excellence in music that can only be achieved through critical listening at the mastering stage. Anthony holds a combined major in music and computer science from the University of Victoria, and a diploma in music production and recording from the University of Stavanger in Norway. "I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tony on multiple musical projects at this point, and I couldn't be happier with the results across the board. He came highly recommended from a colleague in the industry and he knocked it out of the park. Right out of the gate, Tony exhibited the highest level of professionalism, ensuring that every detail I brought up was meticulously handled. He also remained incredibly responsive and super personable throughout the entire process, and made it all feel effortless.
What I think truly sets Tony apart is his ability to be attuned to your requests while also intuitively understanding the overall feel of the song and the best direction to take it in. He is always available to answer my questions and provide insights, making the collabs smooth and timely. His expertise and keen ear for detail brought the whole level up in terms of the quality of my projects, delivering a final product that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Tony to anyone in need of top-notch mastering services, and will definitely be going back to him with any future projects."
